Meet Chris
Southern Engine Reconditioners is proudly owned and operated by Chris Pienaar, who has dedicated more than 34 years to the engine reconditioning industry.
Growing up in the small farming town of Ficksburg, South Africa, Chris developed a strong work ethic, practical problem-solving skills and an appreciation for doing things properly. Those values continue to form the foundation of Southern Engine Reconditioners today.
During his career, Chris worked for Caterpillar in South Africa, where he was recognised with the Service Man of the Year Award in only his second year. The award recognised his technical ability, workmanship and commitment to excellence—qualities that continue to define his approach to every engine rebuild.
Throughout his career, Chris has worked on a wide variety of diesel and petrol engines across automotive, marine, agricultural, commercial and industrial applications. From everyday work vehicles to specialised performance and heavy-duty engine projects, he approaches every rebuild with the same attention to detail, precision and pride in workmanship.
