SER is owned and operated by Chris Pienaar, also known as the South African Engine Reconditioner in Dunedin.

Chris completed his Automotive Machinist apprenticeship at the age of 19 and
moved on to work for the Caterpillar Agents in South Africa, where he got awarded the Best Service Man of the year award
at their Component Rebuild Centre in his second year.
​
Since immigrating to New Zealand he has worked for 2 of the well known engine reconditioners in Dunedin.
Chris has always dreamed of opening up his own Engine Reconditioning Shop.
